MONTVERDE, Fla. — Montverde Academy alumni and MLB star Francisco Lindor made a triumphant return to his alma mater, hosting an unforgettable baseball clinic for local students. Partnering with the MLB Play Ball program and Gatorade, Lindor led an event that brought excitement and inspiration to Montverde’s second and third graders.

With the help of Montverde’s varsity baseball players, the young participants honed their skills through a series of drills focusing on agility, hitting, throwing, catching, and pitching — even receiving pitches from Lindor himself.

“It’s always special coming back here,” Lindor said. “This community helped shape me, and it’s great to give back and share the love of the game with the next generation.”

In addition to hands-on coaching, each child received a free T-shirt, baseball cards, and Gatorade to stay refreshed during the action-packed day. The event was filled with learning, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime!

Lindor, who recently competed in the American League Championship Series with the New York Mets, has been a steadfast supporter of Montverde Academy where he played his high school baseball. His contributions include over $1 million to establish Lindor Hall, an academic facility on the Montverde campus. Montverde Academy also renamed the baseball field after him.

Lindor has been such a blessing to the Montverde Academy and area. He continues to give back in so many ways. He is everything a professional athlete should be and a great representative of Lake County, Florida. We have enjoyed watching his success over the past few years especially with the Mets this season.
