Mount Dora High Junior Tymir Gaines Is Our Student-Athlete Of The Week
MOUNT DORA, Fla. — Mount Dora High School’s Tymir Gaines has been named Student-Athlete of the Week following a standout performance during the team’s 57-6 win against Atlantic High this past week improing the Canes to 4-1 this year.
The dynamic running back put up nearly 250 all-purpose yards, showcasing his versatility and explosive playmaking ability. Gaines carried the ball 15 times for 176 yards, with two touchdowns adding a 37-yard receiving touchdown and a 35-yard punt return, accounting for the bulk of Mount Dora’s offensive production.
Gaines is now approaching 947 yeards rushing. He needs just 53 yards to break through 1,000 yards this season. He has 14 total offensive touchdowns. Gaines is already had 1,270 all-purpose yards this season. He is dangerous because he can also be used as a receiver and he’s actually 2nd on the team in receiving yeards behind Tanner Waring.
We also have to give it up to the Mount Dora High offensive line. They have been giving Tymir Gaines plenty of gaps to run through. They have also provided senior quarterback Jake Sepe with plenty of time in the pocket and have allowed Sepe to throw for 783 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Congratulations to Tymir Gaines.
