Staying Balanced: I do my best to keep up with my schoolwork and stay on top of my assignments by setting aside time to study after school and practices. When I have a game, I try to get my work done beforehand. Using my time wisely and not procrastinating is my best method of juggling school and sports.

Favorite Sport: Volleyball has always been my favorite sport, but I have recently learned to love weightlifting, so now I would have to say that both are my favorite.

A Decade On: In 10 years, I’d like to see myself having completed school with at least a bachelor’s degree and have an established, stable career with a loving family by my side.

Higher Education: I plan on attending a university in Florida and will use the Florida Bright Futures academic scholarship to do so. I have worked for the last three years to complete the program and now that I have the Illustrator—Adobe Certified Expert (ACE)—certification, I only have one more class to finish my senior year to guarantee my full scholarship amount. I plan to major within the medical field and would like to play sports in college, as well.

Life Changing Partnership: I’m passionate about the Unified Olympics, a Special Olympics program that allows students with disabilities to compete in various sports. I have volunteered for several years, competing statewide in flag football, basketball and tennis, with plans to add more sports next year. Representing Mount Dora High School, we have even won state championships. This program is incredibly rewarding. It’s all about fostering strong bonds and building confidence in athletes. I am a proud advocate for Unified Olympics and grateful to be part of something that makes such a meaningful impact on so many lives.
