New 7-Eleven Convenience Store Proposed for Abrams Road in Eustis

Eustis, Fla. — A new 7-Eleven convenience store is set to break ground in Eustis, bringing expanded services to the growing community. Plans for the 4,750-square-foot store were recently submitted for review by the development review committee and is under the first review. The proposed construction would take place on a 2-acre plot at the intersection of Abrams Road and Orange Avenue which has often been a very difficult intersection to pull in and out of, especially on Abrams Road.

We reached out to City of Eustis and Mike Lane the Director of Development services says “Unfortunately, the project doesn’t merit a traffic signal because it’s too close to the current traffic light at Orange and E CR 44. The access to the property is provided by 3 driveways: a full access driveway on Orange/CR 44 (that is shared by Dollar General), a right-in only driveway on Orange Avenue/CR 44) and a full access driveway on Abrams Road. The City’s traffic consultant, Kimley-Horn, LLC) has approved the traffic impact analysis (TIA) provided by the developer.”

In addition to the convenience store, the development will include a 4,489-square-foot fuel canopy with multiple gas pumps, as well as a 990-square-foot car wash facility. The project aims to provide residents with a one-stop location for food, fuel, and automotive needs, further boosting local infrastructure.

(The already difficult to pull out of Abrams Road and Orange Avenue has been a talking point.)

Pending approval, construction is expected to begin in the coming months. The store is anticipated to be a convenient new option for both Eustis locals and commuters passing through the busy intersection.

This project reflects the continued growth in the Eustis area, offering new employment opportunities and expanding commercial offerings to meet the demands of the region’s population. New homes and neighborhoods have sprouted up in this area of Eustis.

(The area would clear a large amount of trees and back right up to the single sided Abrams Road.)

This is not “proposed”! It is currently under construction! It’s a terrible intersection! Very difficult to pull in and out of there in any direction. And even though there is a light at 44 and 44A, when the light is green on 44, semis and other large commercial vehicles, cars, and motorcycles fly thru the light at very high rates of speed! There needs to be a light there. There is a Circle K on the opposing corner. Why is a 7-11 needed???
