Several Lake County schools will welcome new leadership when the 2026-27 school year begins on Aug. 10. Here’s what we know:

Reshonda Scott has been named principal of Leesburg High School. Scott was named Lake County’s Assistant Principal of the Year in December 2025 before earning the title of Florida’s 2026 Assistant Principal of the Year. She now takes the helm at Leesburg High as the school prepares for a new academic year.

Andrea Pyatt, formerly at Leesburg High, will take over as principal of Cecil E. Gray Middle School, succeeding Missy Frana, who is leaving Lake County Schools to become principal of South Sumter High School. Pyatt said she is grateful to have been part of the leadership transition at Leesburg and is looking forward to returning to the Groveland area, where her teaching career began.

Kevin Schichtel has been named principal of Tavares Elementary School. Schichtel said he looks forward to continuing the school’s collaborative culture and building on its success. He follows longtime principal Stacia Warner, who will be taking on a new leadership role within the district.

Dr. Venessa King will become the new principal of Eustis Heights Elementary School. Under King’s leadership, Treadway Elementary improved from a C rating to an A rating in just one year, earning its first A since 2012. Known for her high-energy, hands-on leadership style, King said she is eager to begin working with students, staff and families at Eustis Heights.

Luke Freeze has been named principal of Treadway Elementary School. He said he is excited to join the Treadway family and continue serving the greater Leesburg community. Freeze is passionate about building relationships, supporting students and fostering a positive school culture where everyone can thrive.

Michelle Coleman will take over as principal of Triangle Elementary School, filling the position currently held by Noris Aguayo, who has chosen to retire. Coleman said she is grateful for the experiences and opportunities that have shaped her leadership journey and is looking forward to joining the Region 1 team and serving the Triangle Elementary community.

Randy Campbell has been named principal at Eustis Elementary School, filling the vacancy that will be left by Reanna Boardway, who has decided to pursue another career opportunity. Mr. Campbell brings with him 31 years of educational experience and a strong commitment to student achievement, school safety, and building positive relationships with students, staff, and families. He previously served as assistant principal at Tavares High School, where he demonstrated strong leadership and dedication to supporting student success.

We look forward to a great school year!
