Success Story: Bryan Meagher Overcomes Obstacles to Achieve Independence
This week, we proudly celebrate the success of Bryan Meagher, an extraordinary person who Hope 2 Restoration: Rebuild, ReVive, ReNew Centers has helped. Bryan, who battles autism, has always brought a unique and joyful spirit to our center with his inquisitive nature and perseverance.
Recently, one of our case managers, Eta Nugent, noticed that something was amiss with Bryan’s situation. After asking a few key questions, Eta discovered that Bryan had never owned any form of identification—no birth certificate or ID. Understanding the importance of self-worth and identity, Eta took it upon herself to guide Bryan through the process of securing his personal documents.
But Eta didn’t stop there. Knowing how crucial transportation is to independence, she also taught Bryan how to navigate the city’s public transportation system. This was a significant step toward autonomy for Bryan, especially in case Eta or others couldn’t pick him up.
The entire office erupted in applause and joyful tears when Bryan successfully rode the city bus to our office for the very first time. Eta, of course, followed closely behind, watching his triumphant journey.
We congratulate Bryan for this incredible milestone in his journey toward restoration and independence. His determination is a reminder that, with the right support, not even autism can stand in the way of achieving success.
Bryan, we are so very proud of you!
Kyle Coppola was born in Newton, Massachusetts and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from Curry College in 2016. After traveling to Florida on a family vacation, he decided he could not get enough of the warm weather and made the move from snowy Massachusetts to central Florida 8 years ago.
For the last decade Kyle has gained valuable experience in social media content creation, marketing and sales, writing, video production, sports announcing and even broadcasting for local radio stations, such as FM 102.9 in The Villages and FM 91.5 in Massachusetts. Every year he volunteers at The Villages Charter High School as a play-by-play sports announcer for the football games as well as a public address announcer for the basketball games, including the annual Battle at The Villages Tournament.
Outside the office Kyle is a husband and father to two beautiful girls along with their cat. In his spare time he likes to spend time with his family, travel, play golf and swim. He is also a huge sports junkie and even bigger motorsports fan and loves to attend racing events when he can.
