Tavares Elementary Installs New Artifcial Safety Fencing To Keep Children Safe

In an ever-changing world, especially for young students, one can never be too safe. Tavares Elementary School is going the extra mile and has installed a new artificial safety fence that blocks the view from the street.

Tavares Elementary School installed a fence that actually looks nice. It looks better than the chain link fence, at least. “Check out our new safety and beautification fencing taking place by our car rider side. A huge shout-out to the many volunteers who helped put it up while in the heat to help keep our BullPups safe! Thank you to The Green Fence, Inc. for the beautiful fence. We also appreciate everyone that is still donating funds to help cover the costs involved. We love and appreciate you ALL!!” says Tavares Elementary in a recent Facebook post.

Not only does the new fencing look much better, but it is also designed to keep the car riders who are dropped off and picked up from school safe. The fencing continues around the perimeter of the school property in other areas visible to the outside. These have now been covered in the artificial vine fencing. This is a positive change and a safe one. While there remains work to do at many of our schools in Lake & Sumter County, this is a good step for Tavares Elementary School. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.

This is counter to pretty much every standard for school safety and security.

Making a school look like a prison will not make it safer.

This is not to be celebrated. Sorry.
