Born in Carmel, New York, Dr. Nesheiwat and her family moved to Umatilla in 1982, where she graduated from Umatilla High School. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Florida, she pursued medical training at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. She also attended Stetson University in DeLand for a time. Over the years, she has become a board-certified physician with expertise in family and emergency medicine, serving patients across Arkansas, where she compiled her residency, New York, and beyond.

Dr. Nesheiwat’s career is marked by a commitment to public service, from leading disaster relief missions in Haiti, Ukraine, and Morocco, to her work as a medical contributor for national news outlets, including Fox News. Her leadership as medical director at CityMD, a network of urgent care centers, has provided accessible healthcare to thousands of patients.

“Dr. Nesheiwat is a fierce advocate and strong communicator for preventive medicine and public health,” Trump said in a statement. “She is committed to ensuring that Americans have access to affordable, quality healthcare, and believes in empowering individuals to take charge of their health to live longer, healthier lives.”

Dr. Nesheiwat has been a prominent medical contributor for Fox News since March 2020, providing expert analysis and commentary on a range of public health issues. Her role on Fox News became particularly significant during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she shared insights based on her firsthand experiences on the front lines as a practicing physician in New York City.

In addition to discussing COVID-19, Dr. Nesheiwat has covered various health-related topics, including the opioid epidemic, the risks of vaping, genetic testing research, and the importance of cancer screenings. Her ability to communicate complex medical topics in an accessible way has made her a trusted voice for viewers seeking reliable health information.

In her new role, Dr. Nesheiwat will lead efforts to advance public health initiatives, promote preventive care, and provide critical guidance on health crises. Her recent work includes addressing the opioid epidemic, discussing the medical risks of vaping, and navigating public health challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.
