Village People Set to Perform in The Villages

The legendary disco group Village People is set to take center stage at the Savannah Center on April 10, bringing their timeless hits and electrifying performances to The Villages. With two shows scheduled at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., fans will have the opportunity to relive the magic of one of the most influential music groups of the disco era.

Village People hit the music scene in the late 1970s. Known worldwide for mega-hits like “Y.M.C.A.,” “Macho Man,” “Go West,” and “In the Navy,” the group became a cultural phenomenon. Their five-time platinum album Cruisin’ cemented their place in music history, with “Y.M.C.A.” becoming a songbook staple and an anthem for generations.
The group has sold over 100 million records worldwide, earning accolades including induction into the Library of Congress National Recording Registry in 2020 and the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2022. Even decades after their debut, Village People continues to perform to sold-out audiences around the globe.
Originally from the small town of Berryville, Arkansas, Cindy has become a multimedia specialist in journalism, photography, videography, and video editing. She has a B.S. in Communications from the University of Central Arkansas and produces Style Magazine's Sports Hub Podcast and the Healthy Living Podcast. She also produces for Beacon College’s Telly Award-winning PBS show, “A World of Difference.” When she isn’t working, Cindy loves traveling the National Parks with her husband , Ryan, and son, David, photographing wildlife.
