Villages Parrot Heads Club Raises $56,000 For Alzheimer’s Research at Memorial Golf Tournament
BELLE GLADE, Fla. — On October 20th, 2024, the Villages Parrot Heads Club presented a $56,000 check to the Alzheimer’s Association at their “Phlocking” get-together held at Belle Glade Country Club. The funds, raised through the club’s 2nd annual “Rob Ainsley” Memorial Golf Tournament in September, will support the Longest Day initiative for Alzheimer’s research.
The event was made possible with the help of partners Parady Financial and Streetrod Golf Cars, as well as a dedicated committee, sponsors, volunteers, and golfers. The tournament, honoring the memory of Rob Ainsley, marked another milestone for the club, which continues its tradition of “partying with a purpose.”
In the group photo during the presentation were Rob’s wife, Terry Ainsley; Charity Trustee Marsha Herring; Secretary Kathi Purdy; Golf Tournament Chair Bob Slaninka; Club President Mark “the Shark” Woodland; Solicitation Chair Terry Wallace; Alzheimer’s regional director Steve Waterhouse; Vice President Lisa MacLeod; and Treasurer Barb Beil.
The Villages Parrot Heads Club, a social organization with over 20 years of history, prides itself on community involvement, volunteering, and charitable work, all while celebrating the laid-back, carefree lifestyle inspired by Jimmy Buffett.
