Wildwood Middle High Girls Flag Football Make FHSAA Regional Finals
The Wildwood Middle High School Flag Football team has had an impressive run, making it to the Regional Finals after a thrilling victory against Jones High School. This matchup was a rematch of the District Championship game, where Wildwood emerged victorious with a narrow 13-7 win over the Tigers.
Once again, Wildwood’s players showcased their skills on the field. 8th Grader Zoey Brown delivered an outstanding performance as the quarterback, while other key players like Ra’nyla Jackson, Trinidy Harris, Essiance Jasper, and Ra’miya Blackwell made significant contributions to the team’s success.
Under the guidance of Coach Vincent Brown, who also coaches the boys’ football team, the Wildcats have flourished. His expertise and football knowledge have been instrumental in shaping the girls’ team into a formidable force.
With a perfect 10-0 record, Wildwood faces their toughest challenge yet on April 30th when they host Lecanto High School. Lecanto boasts an impressive 15-1 record, having defeated strong opponents such as Citrus, Trinity Catholic, and The Villages by wide margins throughout the season. The upcoming game against Lecanto will be a true test of Wildwood’s skills and determination.
The stakes are high, as the winner of this game advances to the FHSAA State Quarterfinals. Wildwood is gearing up for an intense battle and hopes to continue their winning streak and season. At this point you either win or go home every game. The community is encouraged to come out and support the Lady Wildcats on Tuesday, April 30th at 7 pm, as they strive to make the State Championship Quarterfinals! Go Lady Wildcats!
