WILDWOOD, Fla. — Garrion Corbin Jr., a name synonymous with Wildwood Middle High School football, is taking the next step in his coaching career. The former Wildwood standout, who played defensive end and outside linebacker during his time as a student-athlete, has accepted the defensive coordinator position at Belleview High School.

Corbin Jr. spent the past year coaching at his alma mater, helping guide Wildwood to a successful season capped by a near-miss in the Rural State Championship. The Wildcats fell just one point short in the state semifinal, a heartbreaking finish to a campaign marked by resilience and growth.

(Corbin Jr. was a mentor to many at Wildwood Middle High this year. It’s great to see him earn an opportunity as a defensive coordinator.)

“Thank you to Coach Fields and Wildwood for allowing me to learn and grow as a coach,” Corbin Jr. said in a statement. “This year was special. To be able to mentor and teach at your alma mater is a blessing. But I want to continue to climb the ladder, so I have accepted the defensive coordinator position with Belleview High School.”

A former player for the AC Silver Storm, a JUCO football team based in North Miami Beach, Corbin Jr. brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role. His ability to develop talent and instill discipline was evident during his tenure at Wildwood, and Belleview will look to him to elevate their defensive unit.

Corbin Jr. is one of those coaches that has a ton of potential to be great in the coming years. We are excited to see what he is able to accomplish and wish him the best of luck with Belleview.
