Wildwood’s Trinidy Harris Named Lake & Sumter Style Magazine’s Girls Student-Athlete of the Year

WILDWOOD, Fla. — Whether it was driving to the basket or catching a touchdown in the end zone, Wildwood Middle High School’s Trinidy Harris did it all and did it better than almost anyone in the state.
Capping off a senior year for the ages, Harris has been named Lake and Sumter Style Magazine’s Girls High School Student-Athlete of the Year, following an extraordinary two-sport campaign that saw her go a combined 38-1 in basketball and flag football while leading both teams deep into postseason play.
On the hardwood, Harris was nothing short of dominant. The senior guard averaged 19.2 points, 4 rebounds, 3.1 steals, and 2.3 assists per game in her final season, guiding Wildwood to the FHSAA Class 1A State Championship which the team would win. Harris had been to Lakeland multiple times but came up short in her bid for a state championship. But this year she was determined to go out as a state champion, which she did.
Harris finished her high school basketball career with 1,778 points, 379 rebounds, 261 assists, and 410 steals, an elite stat line that speaks to her relentless effort on both ends of the court. Harris might have been a great offensive player but her efforts on the defensive side of the ball were equally impressive.

(Harris wears her FHSAA State Championship medal after winning the FHSAA Class Rural State Championship earlier this year.)
But Harris wasn’t done rewriting the record books after she won an FHSAA State Basketball Championship.
Once basketball season wrapped up, she laced up her cleats and joined Wildwood’s flag football team, helping power the Wildcats to the FHSAA State Championship Game, where they finished as state runners-up.
As a primary wide receiver, Harris hauled in 42 receptions for 521 yards during her senior year alone. She ended her career with 891 total offensive yards and 19 touchdowns, making her one of the top contributors in program history.
“Trinidy is the kind of athlete that does exactly what is asked of her,” Wildwood coach Vincent Brown said. “She’s tough, smart, and has that rare competitive fire. No moment was ever too big for her.”

(Harris will continue her athlete journey at St. Pete College where she committed to play for 2025/2026.)
On and off the field, Harris exemplified leadership and tenacity characteristics that made her a cornerstone of two of Wildwood’s most successful girls sports programs.
Harris has committed to play basketball at St. Pete College in the fall of 2025. She gave everything to Wildwood and her teammates, she set a new standard for what it means to be a student-athlete at Wildwood and we are incredibly proud of her. Congratulations to Trinidy Harris on being named Lake & Sumter Style Magazine’s 2025 Girls Student-Athlete of the Year.
