Clermont, FL — The Windy Hill Middle School Wildcats Flag Football Team clinched a massive 25-0 victory against Gray Middle School on October 28th, capping an unforgettable season with a championship title. Despite being underdogs, Windy Hill turned the tables on their longtime rivals in dominant fashion, securing the title.

“This season, I kept telling the players they were the most resilient team I’ve ever coached,” says head coach Marc Perry. “They worked together all year, fought through some incredibly close games, and showed their best effort when it mattered most.”

The Wolves had been tested throughout the season, including two nail-biting overtime matches and several games decided by narrow margins. They closed the season with an impressive 9-2 record, with their only two losses coming against none other than Gray Middle in regular-season play. These losses had many assuming Gray would continue their winning streak in the final showdown. However, Windy Hill defied all expectations with a defensive lockdown, shutting out their opponents and displaying an offensive prowess that had eluded Gray’s defense.

The championship win didn’t come easily. In the playoff game, the Wolves pulled off a gritty victory over Oak Park Middle, showcasing the same teamwork and resolve that defined their season. The momentum from that game fueled their confidence heading into the rematch with Gray, a team that had edged them out twice during the regular season.

Coach Perry expressed pride in his team’s journey and resilience. “A lot of people expected Gray to win, but our players stayed focused. I couldn’t be prouder of them. They deserved this recognition after everything they put into the season.”

We are very proud of this team! They played hard all season long and come away with the championship! Well done to each and every one of these future stars.
