Eustis Police Chief Craig Capri Honors Deputy Bradley Link in 280-Mile Tour De Force Bike Ride

Eustis Police Chief Craig Capri recently joined law enforcement officers from across the nation in the 2024 Tour De Force NY Memorial Bike Ride, a powerful tribute to honor the memory of officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice and the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The annual event took participants on a challenging 250-mile ride through Maryland and Delaware, raising over $500,000 for the families of fallen officers.

This year, Chief Capri dedicated his ride to Master Deputy Sheriff Bradley Michael Link of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, who passed away in the line of duty on August 3, 2024. “He is a hero who will never be forgotten,” Chief Capri shared, emphasizing the importance of remembering and honoring those who serve.

“I can promise you that we will NEVER FORGET our heroes,” Chief Capri says. “Mission accomplished.”

Since its beginnings in 2002, when NYPD Det. Robert De Paolis (ret) first rode his bike to honor the police officers who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks, the Tour de Force has grown into a significant annual event. Now a four-day, 280-mile ride, it brings together 300 law enforcement officers from across the U.S. and abroad, as well as their families and friends, all united in their mission to support the families of officers killed in the line of duty. Over the years, the Tour de Force has become much more than a ride—it is a powerful symbol of solidarity, remembrance, and the unwavering commitment of the law enforcement community to honor their fallen heroes.

The ride saw participants cycling through scenic routes along the coast and through various towns in Maryland and Delaware.

“We rode over 250 miles in four days, raising money for the families of law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice,” Chief Capri says. “We also honor all the victims of the 9/11 attacks. So proud to be a member of the Tour De Force family.”
