Aerial Herbicide Treatment Planned for the Pine Meadows Conservation Area in Eustis

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), in coordination with the Lake County Office of Parks and Trails, will conduct an aerial herbicide treatment over the Pine Meadows Conservation Area (2280 Pine Meadows Golf Course Road, Eustis) on Tues., Oct. 1, 2024.

The treatment is expected to take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. The park will be closed until treatment is complete.

The Pine Meadows Conservation Area is a 770-acre wetland complex in Lake County. The FWC has partnered with the County to restore local marsh habitats. The treatments will target invasive/exotic plant species and allow native vegetation to recolonize and expand. By supporting native vegetation growth, the partnership aims to improve habitat conditions for fish and wildlife populations.
