Lake County’s Office of Transit Services is undergoing various changes thanks to an exciting new route, including stop movements and time adjustments. All changes went into effect on Tues. Oct. 1, 2024.

27 Xpress Commuter Route: LakeXpress will now connect Leesburg’s Citizens Boulevard Transfer Station to Clermont’s Park and Ride Transfer Station, with stops within the Christopher C. Ford Commerce Park in Groveland. This new route will also link LakeXpress’ North and South County routes, allowing seamless travel throughout Lake County and beyond, connecting with LYNX in Orange County and Citrus Connection in Polk County. The service will operate on weekdays during morning and afternoon commuter hours.

Leesburg to Villages Route 1A: The Route will be extended north to Walmart in Summerfield, with stops only at UF Health’s Spanish Plaines Hospital and Walmart on the Northbound and Southbound trips of the route extension. The Southbound route will continue to stop at the Spanish Springs “train station” stop and then return to U.S. Highway 441. Simultaneously, the remainder of the bus stops on the feeder road in Spanish Springs will be moved to U.S. Highway 441 and reduced by one stop.

South Lake Xpress Commuter Route: This weekday commuter route’s morning hours have been adjusted to begin and end one hour later; the afternoon times remain unchanged. This route connects Clermont’s Park and Ride transfer station with Route 55 in Four Corners, where LakeXpress customers may transfer to LYNX in Orange County or Citrus Connection in Polk County.
