FAITH IN RECOVERY

The “Journey Home Gala” at The Carriage House at Vedder Farms on April 18 benefitted Hand in Hand Recovery, a faith-based, non-profit addiction recovery organization created for men and women in need of treatment, specifically those who cannot afford it. The Lake County chapter welcomed local dignitaries such as Florida State Representatives Taylor Yarkosky (who was the keynote speaker) and Keith Truenow. Also in attendance were State Senator Dennis K. Baxley and Sherriff Peyton C. Grinnell. Presenting sponsor was Blackston Financial Group and other sponsors included AdventHealth, which donated $25,000 and the Lake County Sherriff’s Office, which donated $10,000. Hand in Hand Lake County raised over $700,000 with help from individual donors and the Harper Family Charitable Foundation, which contributed $500,000 to this very worthy cause.
