Kaitlynn Brady Brings Home Bronze for Leesburg at USAW Nationals
Congratulations to Kaitlynn Brady who competed at the USAW Nationals. Kaitlynn, who is a graduate of Leesburg High School, came home with two bronze medals and nearly was able to win gold in both traditional and olympic weightlifting. Regardless, the two bronze medals were a sign of great things to come for Kaitlynn Brady who has dreams of making the USA Olympic team in the coming years.
In fact, the 87-lb. graduate of Leesburg High School is the lightest prep lifter in the state of Florida. But don’t let her size fool you; Kaitlynn is an individual three-time state champion. “I’ve always been doubted because of my size and gender,” Kaitlynn says. “But that just fuels my fire to show younger girls what’s possible.”
Kaitlynn’s mindset is incredibly strong. She learned how to get the best out of her lifts from one of Central Florida’s all-time greatest weightlifting coaches Josh Boyer with Leesburg High. Josh Boyer coached the boys and girls teams to three state championships in 2024. Kaitlynn considers herself a leader especially to young women ““Don’t give up. You’re strong and capable of anything you set your mind to,” says Kaitlynn.
Congratulations on the bronze medals and we look forward to seeing Kaitlynn’s progess the next few years.
