Lady Lake Honors Mike Spradlin’s Legacy with Naming of Junior Baseball Field
As a tribute to Mike Spradlin’s decades-long dedication to youth baseball and softball, the Lady Lake Commission unanimously approved the naming of the Junior Baseball Field at the Guava Street Athletic Complex in his honor. The ceremony took place on Saturday, commemorating Spradlin’s remarkable service to Lady Lake’s youth sports community.
For nearly 30 years, Mike Spradlin has been an integral part of Lady Lake Youth Baseball & Youth Softball (formerly Little League). Since the league’s inception in 1995, Spradlin has served as its treasurer, ensuring the financial stability and longevity of the organization. His commitment has touched the lives of thousands of children in the community, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate regardless of financial constraints.
Ginny Brooks, League President of Lady Lake Youth Baseball & Youth Softball, expressed her gratitude for Spradlin’s steadfast leadership, stating, “Mike’s dedication to the youth in our community is what allows our league to continue to exist year after year. I cannot think of anyone better to dedicate the junior baseball field to.”
The dedication ceremony coincided with the league’s 29th season opening day on March 2, with town officials joining in to celebrate Spradlin’s contributions.
