Mount Dora High’s New Principal Kyle Bracewell Hosts Meet & Greet

Mount Dora High School will have a new principal in August of 2024. Kyle Bracewell was appointed as Principal of Mount Dora High School following a very successful run by former principal Marlene Straughan. Under principal Straughan’s leadership Mount Dora High had one of the highest graduation rates in all of Lake County.

Now Kyle Bracewell will take over. You can expect just as much focus on academics and athletics from Principal Bracewell who has been well received by the community as a worthy successor of Principal Straughan.

There will be a meet and greet with Principal Bracewell on June 6th from 10-11 a.m. in the Mount dora High School Media Center on 700. North Highland Street in Mount Dora. Vicki Jensen Seman was quoted as saying “Great guy inside and out.”

Principal Straughan says “Many of you know Kyle and his passion for education. Kyle is eager to lead this amazing school and I have no doubt he will continue to build upon a solid foundation.”

Although it is bitter sweet to see Marlene Straughan go she will take an exciting new leadership position as the Regional Executive Director for Region 1. Marlene will still be around as well as Mount Dora High is one of her assigned schools in her region.

We are very excited for the students, faculty, parents, community and for Principal Kyle Bracewell as he takes the reigns at Mount Dora High. The community is encouraged to come out and meet with him on Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
