NBA player Keon Ellis who plays with the Sacramento Kings, returned to his roots to give back to the community that helped shape him. He’s an inspiration to so many in our area and continues to help give back in so many ways.

Keon Ellis, known for his tenacity on the court and his genuine love for the game hosted The KTE Basketball Clinic which is his way of sharing his journey, skills, and passion for the game with the next generation. Perhaps there are some young stars that will be playing in the NBA or college one day.

As the kids poured into the gym, their faces lit up with excitement. The gym was transformed into a basketball wonderland, complete with stations for dribbling drills, shooting practice, and defensive tactics. Coaches and trainers were there to guide the young players, but the real magic was in the presence of Keon Ellis himself, who moved from station to station, offering personalized tips and encouragement.

One of the highlights of the day was the guest appearance by Fred Griffin Jr., a motivational speaker whose words had inspired countless individuals to chase their dreams. Fred, with his infectious enthusiasm and powerful message, addressed the group of young players. His speech was a mix of personal anecdotes and motivational advice, designed to fire up the young athletes.

The clinic wasn’t just about basketball skills; it was about building character and fostering a sense of community. To see so many young kids getting this kind of opportunity in Lake County is truly a blessing. A shout out to Tre Mann who also gives back and so many like Keanu Neal and others who constantly give back to our community.

Keon Ellis is a two-time state champion with the Leesburg Yellow Jackets. He is one of the all-time greats in our area. We are looking forward to his upcoming season with the Sacramento Kings! Thank you Keon for everything you do!
