Shutterbug. Service Star. Student Leader. She Does It All—and Makes It Look Easy

Cadence Whitehouse
Favorite school subjects: Journalism and photography.
My love for photography began when: I took a photography class back in 10th grade and started helping my teacher out with sporting events on campus. From there my passion grew and as Montverde Academy’s lead student photographer, I’ve loved capturing moments that last a lifetime.
During my time at Montverde Academy: I founded my own public speaking club, I was swim team manager, past lacrosse team manager, Montverde Academy Eagle Ambassador (tour guide), lead student sports photographer and Key Club Division 9B Lieutenant Governor.
Graduation accolades: I was presented with the Key Club Leader of the Leaders award; I am now a two-time Robert F. Lucas Distinguished Lieutenant Governor recipient and my senior superlative was “most involved.”
Besides photography, I enjoy: Graphic design and volunteering. I have more than 1,000 community service hours.
One of my greatest personal achievements: Being elected to serve as the Division 9B Lieutenant Governor for the Florida District of Key Club International. This opportunity has really shaped me into the leader I am today and I have grown so much since stepping into this role two years ago.

I’ve continued as a member of Key Cub because: I love the work I do. Being able to build the bridge between the South Lake County schools I work with, and the Florida District is such an honor, and I hold it so close to my heart . . . connecting everyone with a love for service means everything to me.
College goals: I will be attending Florida Atlantic University and studying multimedia journalism with a double minor in public relations and sports studies.
I look up to: My Key Club Zone Administrators Cleve and Deborah Tinsley are my biggest influences. Since I started Key Club, they’ve always motivated me to reach for the stars and be myself. They’ve given me life lessons that I’ll always hold onto, and they have shaped me into the leader I am today.
Three words I would choose to describe myself: Motivated. Driven. Hardworking.
Favorite food: Italian.
Top song/artist on your playlist: My music taste is all over the place.
Best advice to my younger self: Everything will work out in the end.
Best advice to others: Get involved! Getting involved in your community can change your life; I know it changed mine.
